The following prayers are based on Isaiah 12:2-6, the First Song of Isaiah, the Canticle appointed for the Third Sunday of Advent, Year C.

Celebrant
In the hushed anticipation of your coming, O Lord, lead us with rejoicing in the light of your glory; that we might be ready for you, and eager to pray.

Intercessor
Surely it is you, O God, who saves us. Come to your church, to your faithful people, and renew us that we may not be afraid.

Come Lord Jesus, and hear our prayer.

You, O Lord, are the stronghold and sure defense of the nations, the hope of the earth. Come to the world, to all your children, and renew us that we might know peace and your grace.

Come Lord Jesus, and hear our prayer.

You, O Lord, hold the springs of salvation; come bring your comfort to the poor, the sick, the vulnerable and the fearful (especially…) that they might draw your water with rejoicing.

Come Lord Jesus, and hear our prayer.

To you, O Lord we give thanks, and we call upon your name. We pray for those celebrating this week, especially…

Come Lord Jesus, and hear our prayer.

In the fulness of time, O God, you sent your son, to be born of our sister Mary. And his name was Emmanuel: God With Us. We thank you for your Presence with us, and we pray that you might be always present with those whom we love but see no longer, (especially…).

Come Lord Jesus, and hear our prayer.

Celebrant
O Christ, we cry aloud with the inhabitant of Zion, and we ring out our joy, as we wait and expect your coming into the midst of us, the Holy One of Israel. Amen.
